    Professor Ester Sabino awarded the Armando de Salles Oliveira medal from USP for activities to confront Covid-19

    The University of Sao Paulo (USP) awarded six Professors the Armando de Salles Oliveira medal for their prominence in actions against COVID-19. The Director of FMUSP, Professor Tarcisio Eloy Pessoa de Barros Filho, said Professor Ester Sabino received the medal  for her ‘work on the diagnosis, genetic sequencing of the first COVID-19 case in Brazil’, and ‘the identification of new strains that are unfortunately spreading throughout the country; all of them with activities that are extremely relevant to society’.

    Professor Vahan Agopyan, Dean of USP said “The tribute to these six teachers represents a tribute to all our students, teachers and civil servants who have worked on this front line,”.
